Pore Cleansers: Skin pore cleansers can be divided into two categories which is Chemical or Mechanical. Chemical pore cleansers relies on the use of chemical exfoliants such as Glycolic Acid or Salicylic Acid to make the skin shed those dead skin cells that block the pores. Salicylic Acid is also good to be used as a deep pore cleanser because it dissolves hardened sebum. There are also mechanical pore cleansers which relies on a pad of paper or cloth coated with an adhesive which sticks to those dried skin cells and dried sebum which blocks the pores. A good example of this type is the Biore pore cleanser strips. Another type of mechanical pore cleanser is the one that is electrically powered and uses a motor with suctions cups to provide a gentle suction action on the pores.
Summary of Pore Cleansers
1. Chemical - Uses chemical exfoliants like Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid and Sulfur. Although very effective, some people might be allergic or sensitive to these chemical agents. For very oily skin, Salicylic acid pore cleansers with 2% concentration is the best to use.
2. Pore Strips - They are good in removing large pore blockage. Pore strips can unclog whiteheads which is a very common stuff that blocks the pores.
3. Electrically powered pore cleansers - The advantage of electric powerd power cleansers is that they can provide a gentle massage on the pores. The suction and massaging action of the pore cleanser allows the removal of dried oil and other debris that blocks the pore.
Pore cleanser review
Panasonic pore cleanser with mist (Source: Panasonic Pore Cleanser Faq. http://www.panasonic.com )
The latest innovation from Panasonic features a micro-fine mist that sprays as you clean. The mist allows for better suction and smoother use on the skin while cleansing your pores. Continuous micro-fine mist ensures that the suction cup stays on your skin tightly to remove oil and dirt from the pores. Without it, gaps of air form between the suction cup and the skin resulting in a loss of suction force. Now a continuous spray of fine mist seals the surface and enhances suction power for cleaner pores plus alleviates potential skin irritation resulting from pulling action on the skin. This Pore Cleanser can be used in a wet or dry environment and can be fully immersed in water. Using the Pore Cleanser during or after the shower allows your pores to open up and improves cleaning effectiveness. The reversible suction cup is great for targeting specific areas of the face. The ultra slim design allows the suction cup to focus in on hard-to-reach areas around the nose. Simply reverse the suction cup to cover larger areas of your skin. The Pore Cleanser with Mist from Panasonic cleanses away whiteheads and blackheads as well as refines the appearance of large pores. It provides a refreshing, clean sensation while keeping dirt and oil out of your pores. Once you begin using the Pore Cleanser regularly, you'll be on your way to cleaner, clearer skin.
1. What is a Pore Cleanser?
The Pore Cleanser product is designed to remove excess oil and dirt from your face and nose. It works by applying a low level of suction to your pores, resulting in cleaner skin.
2. How do I use the Pore Cleanser?
The Pore Cleanser comes with a reversible suction cup which has a narrow side, for use on and around the nose, and a wide side, for use on the forehead, chin and cheeks areas.
Using the suction cup on the nose area:
Using the narrow side of the cup, gently wet the tip of your nose and start sliding the Pore Cleanser gently over your nose. Continue for approx. 1 minute to treat the entire lower area of your nose. Rinse your face and apply moisturizing lotion to sooth your skin.
Using the suction cup on the forehead, cheeks and chin areas:
Using the wide side of the cup, apply the Pore Cleanser around your face. Lift the Pore Cleanser away from your skin in a slow, twisting motion, so that your skin is cleansed and released at a steady rhythm. Continue for approx. 4 minutes to treat the entire face area. Rinse your face and apply moisturizing lotion to sooth your skin.
3. How can I get the best results with my Pore Cleanser?
Open Pores
The Pore Cleanser works most effectively when the pores of your skin are well opened. Because the heat from a hot shower tends to release your pores, it's a good idea to use the Pore Cleanser either during or just after a shower or bath.
Clean Skin
You should always remove makeup, lotion or soap from your face before using the Pore Cleanser. This ensures that your pores are as accessible as possible.
Regular Cleaning
We recommend that you use the Pore Cleanser two or three times a week for best results.
4. Should I avoid certain areas of my face?
Avoid using the Pore Cleanser around your eyes, head, hairline border, or on areas where your skin is thinner. Also, the Pore Cleanser should not be used on pimples, blemishes, sunburned, broken or inflamed skin. If you have very sensitive skin, don't use the Pore Cleanser on the same areas more than twice in one cleaning.
5. What does the Suction Increase button do?
Holding this button down while your Pore Cleanser is operating will increase the suction pressure for a stronger cleaning. If you have sensitive skin, you should use this feature carefully.
6. What does the Mist function do, and how do I use it? (EH2501 only)
The mist cools your skin and closes your pores after you finish treating your skin with the Pore Cleanser.
To use the mist function:
Fill the water tank with water. Turn the suction switch on. Hold the Pore Cleanser about 2 inches away from your face, and press the mist button to spray mist onto your skin. Spray your face with mist for about 10 seconds, and either let dry naturally or gently wipe dry with a soft towel.
7. How long does it take for the Pore Cleanser to recharge? How long does the charge last?
You should let your Pore Cleanser recharge for at least eight hours. Each recharge provides enough energy for about four skin treatments, at a total of five minutes a treatment.
8. How long before I start to see results?
You should use the Pore Cleanser for approximately 2-3 weeks before results are visible. Results vary by individual.
